✨ Today, we’re delighted to introduce Anaïs Ehret, who shares her journey, her inspirations, and her experience as part of the Azur Health Science team.

Anaïs, we’re so glad to have you with us in Welcome to Azur!

My main focus is writing regulatory documents, which involves supporting our writers across different projects and helping ensure clear communication with client teams.

I also contribute to some of the resources we develop for Azur’s website, aimed at sharing our regulatory writing expertise.

I’m a Doctor of Pharmacy with a specialisation in research. I’ve always wanted to contribute to the development of new therapies, so I did several internships in research laboratories during my academic journey. Through those experiences, I came to realise I actually preferred describing results over conducting the experiments themselves.

Medical writing felt like a natural way to combine my scientific knowledge with my writing skills, and to still help move new therapies forward, but from a different angle.

One challenge I often face is meeting every client request, as several stakeholders are reviewing the same document. This can lead to a lot of update requests, and not all of them are actually necessary.

My approach is to go through each comment carefully and ask myself whether the suggested update is genuinely needed and whether it improves the clarity of the document.

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is the importance of flexibility. In one of the projects I worked on recently, we had to make a lot of updates within a tight deadline, which meant adapting quickly and staying organised.

Flexibility is one of the key skills I’ve developed since my very first projects, and I think it’s essential in this job.

I have a particular interest in oncology projects. Scientifically, I find the pathophysiology of cancer fascinating: how cells grow, mutate, and how new therapies are designed to target these mechanisms.

On a more personal level, both my mother and my grandmother had ovarian cancer, which explains why this therapeutic area feels personal to me.

My main hobby is weightlifting, which I started two years ago. I also play electric guitar; no rockstar career on the horizon, but it’s a great way to clear my head (I feel sorry for my neighbours). And there’s my corgi puppy: between the walks and keeping him out of trouble, it’s basically a full-time job!

My goal is to grow into a medical writer who is fully autonomous, able to make decisions independently while keeping clear communication with client teams.

I want to get to a point where I can own a document from start to finish with confidence, while still building a strong and collaborative relationship with the client.
