✨ Today, we’re happy to spotlight Rose-Laurence Gallay who shares her journey, her passions, and her role at Azur Health Science.

Let’s begin by getting to know your role and how you contribute to the team !

I’m the Lead Business Developer, so my contribution to the team is bringing projects that bring money to the company. I’m here to get Azur known in the outside world.

What are the biggest challenges in this job? Especially in Healthcare and life sciences sector?

That’s a big one. I guess the constant layoffs are one of the biggest challenges. They want the work done by AI. Some companies rely heavily on AI and are removing more and more of the human and essential part of this job.

It’s very dangerous for us as Lead Business Developers.

Another challenges, I would say get signatures done.

It’s a really tiny world, so it’s difficult to get clients because they might already be working with our competitors.

Finding clients who are not already with the competition is also a real challenge.

What do you enjoy the most about being a lead business developper?

Money—just kidding (laugh). The human contact, and being able to build strong partnerships with clients, is the main reason why I enjoy this job the most.

What inspired you to work in a field as specialized as life sciences and rare diseases?

Because I think there is a sense of purpose.

It’s not the same as generalist marketing, which is to many just selling for selling. When it comes to healthcare, at the end you know there are real humans, real treatments going out.

That’s something that motivates me. In my personal time, I try my best to go help kids in hospitals—read books to them, keep them company, play with them.

And I wanted to have this purpose in my work as well. It really meant a lot to me.

How would you describe yourself as a member of the Azur team?

I’ve been here for a month. I think it’s too early to say.

I don’t know—feel free to write whatever you want (laughs). No, just kidding. I hope I’m going to be a good contribution to the team.

What has your professional journey looked like so far, leading you to Azur Health Science?

I guess I ended up in pharma by accident during an internship I needed to validate my master’s degree.

I just fell in love with the pharma industry and then started looking for opportunities.

I ended up at Azur because Azur is niche in rare diseases, and that’s something that really resonates with me.

What are your hobbies and passions outside of work?

Oh, there are many! I love to bake, I love to go on hikes.

I’m lucky enough to live in a beautiful city, so I also like sailing boats on the lake. I do some ceramic painting. I like anything that’s manual.

If you had one single wish, personal or professional, what would it be?

I’d say more professional here, but I guess sign my targets. And on a personal level, I guess being able to start my family.

A big thank you Rose
